no no THIS is the winter of my discontent

that flu packs a punch and changes your plans a bit

feeling better some---although i am left with not much to say or share--there has been no cooking or third floor dreams---only bleak thoughts and mindless wondering

as usual i feel like i have put my life on hold or early release so to speak----did i mention my hatred of this cold-stark----dirty looking messy season known as winter----really quite a lovely name

today i have to say i could almost imagine myself making a big pot of soup---not sure anyone would want to partake of it, after the steaming liquid would most likely have me coughing ferociously over it

i have managed to secure a few valentine goodies for the grand-kids---something i take some pleasure in----and as much as i was over and over the holidays----have also filled a drawer with clearance Christmas junk----yes shopping does still interest me--thank goodness for that

i have not started my ancestry thing---but have been heavy into some medical research----once long ago, i wanted to be a doctor of research---or an archeologist ----then an actor---where i could pretend to be both------

and lately i have given much--okay some----thought to leaving---my kids--great words of wisdom--you know things i can tell them about life and lessons i have learned-----but then i realized i didn't have anything to say---i would have to lie---but hey isn't that what a good mother does

  4. Glad you are feeling better! Make that pot of soup. Who knows, it might actually make you feel better and soup is especially great in cold weather.

  5. Wisdom is a peculiar thing. It comes then goes, confusing me constantly.

  7. Hope you get by that flu. I shouldn't say it, but I never get the flu even when the rest of the family gets it. Strange in a lucky sort of way.

  11. Sorry to hear you're under the weather. If post-nasal drip is the root of the evil right now, try NeilMed sinus rinse. That, and sleep and warm showers, and giving yourself endless permission to relax and be easy on yourself.

  13. I know what these winter bugs do Lynn, you have my sympathy. I've woken this morning feeling the best I have in the last four weeks.
It would be nice to complete projects one thinks would be nice for family posterity, but there's always something to put gremlins in the works.
I wouldn't worry about coughing over a pan of soup, my step mother nearly always had a nose drip while she cooked.
Hope you're feeling much better now.

  14. Oh my. I sure hope my mother hasn't been lying to me all these years. Actually, I know she hasn't. Yup. She's pretty blunt. *shrugs* Anyhow, LYNN, NO MORE BEING SICK. You hear me? That's an order!

And while I'm demanding things, here's some virtual cheese to smooth over your rough month. Take care, my friend.

  16. Winter can be so icky and depressing. Life can be that way. I often feel tempted to just give everything (or mostly) up and start over....but my husband reminds me never to make a decision when I feel emotional. Hope you are feeling better :-)
