i just visited a blogging friend and saw that she was participating in the a-z challenge---i felt a little pang that i had not done it this year----just a little mind you---
i think it is a great idea though---but not to be critical---i would enjoy it better if everyone just hit the keys each day, not knowing where the story or post would take them only the letter----that's what i did the first year---haha that's the way i thought it was to go----
again me being an undisciplined writer liked it better that way, huh---
but here i am writing today and starting a twitter account----so i guess i still feel i want to say something to someone sometimes-
life is strange isn't it---we struggle to connect and then when we do---we often retreat-----don't ask us too much----don't get too close-
we just can't help, wanting to be known and understood-------if we realized how little people really think about us all---well it's true
it's just so hard to get out of this body of evidence that we are the stars in our story and if we don't tell it, rarely will someone else
Fortunately for me, I decided on my topic for A to Z back in October and had plenty of time to prepare and schedule. That being said, I still have two of them to write. So easy to pick a topic.
ReplyDeleteoh cool denise, i am coming over now to check your posts!
ReplyDeleteI almost didn't do the challenge this year, because I've been so busy. But I decided to go ahead and give it a try. It's crazy, but fun!
ReplyDeleteit was fun---i am glad you did it sherry---i plan to catch up on your posts :)
DeleteI missed the challenge last year as I was being mentored by another author. So I was a supportive blogger by visiting some of the people on that list. You can be a supporter if you like, they have a badge too - check out the A to Z page.
ReplyDeleteThis year hubs suggested my theme: ART. I can get inspired by that. Good luck with Twitter, I'm not twitter-pated, yet.
i love your theme and i too love art and art history----i don't know how much tweeting i will do but i joined today because today they offered their new look :)
DeleteWith the A-Z, I like the idea too, of just writing what comes to mind daily. But, it doesn't work for me. I spend to much time thinking about what to write! The Challenge takes enough time as it is! So, I actually write posts all year long and stash them. Then when the challenge really starts, I can spend my time just blog-hopping around the linky list. It's taken me three years to get this! I still pop in here, Lynn, whether you're in the challenge or not, just so ya know. :-)
ReplyDeleteyou are so right mare--it does give you more time to visit other blogs! hey thanks for letting me know you visit mare :)
ReplyDeleteIt has been a busy 1/2 year. One thing and then another. But I am participating in the A to Z, but this year my posts are pithy. Wanted to provoke thought, not give a lecture.
ReplyDeletei really get that susan--now i want to go back and read all of your posts!!
DeleteI did the A to Z again this year, but decided to make it a game. I love all the informative posts, but sometimes a girl just wants to have fun. Shallow, I know.
ReplyDeletehaha i hear ya lee :)
DeleteSo true--all of it. Connection makes me nervous. :) However, I wish you HAD participated. I like reading you.
ReplyDeleteaw thanks teresa-- i like reading you too-- i really adored your theme last year too-- i think it would make a great book :)
ReplyDeleteYou really made me think. Why do we all write?
ReplyDeleteyeah it is sometimes hard to explain---i am glad i made you think, thanks susan :)
DeleteAnything that would require me to post something daily is a no go. I just don't have it in me.
ReplyDeleteyeah that's how i felt this year-- i can barely write every couple of weeks on my blog it seems-- i can imagine you haven't had time for much of anything-- thinking of you :)
DeleteA to Z literally makes my head swim. It's like the PT telling me to lift one leg then the other 12 times. When I'm done she tells me I just lifted one leg 12 times, then the other 12 times. So, back to square one.
ReplyDeletehaha i can relate this year joanne--right there with ya ;)
DeleteI'm back at it this year. So far I've had fun and I'll do it as long as it's fun. When it isn't, I'm done.
ReplyDeletethat's a good way to look at it---coming over donna :)
DeleteI like the more random-thought type of posts as well. Also, I have missed you on this challenge!
ReplyDeletemaybe we will have to do one that way sometime--thanks joy :)
DeleteIt's something I'd do if I was housebound maybe. I sit at my computer too long as it is. There's a popular writing practise in Urdu called Shayari or Shairy which is two line poetry, maybe I'd have a go at that.
ReplyDelete"I'm a blogger, sitting here"
"Looking outside, I'd rather be there"
that poetry thing sounds fun---oh yeah i could guess you would rather be outside--i might as well admit i am more of an indoor gal--but love looking at your pics of the beautiful outdoors :)
DeleteYou know, the times I'm happiest are the times I'm completely focused on others, but they're also the times I completely burn out, so how do you balance that? A to Z is case in point. I want to get to everyone's blogs and share the love, but whew! There comes a point the brain gets fuzzy and all I want to do is sleep. Meh! I'll sleep when I'm dead. ;)
ReplyDeletehaha i know what you mean crystal---but hopefully there will be too much great stuff in heaven and little need for sleep--although here, it does feel heavenly ;)
DeleteI'm following a couple of people that are participating. Hope you're doing great! Happy Wednesday!
ReplyDeletei am sorry to say i haven't been to active in following anyone these days but like to check in now and then---hope you are well too marie--i can't complain :)
Delete'wanting to be known and understood'
ReplyDelete:)
