i missed the challenge

i just visited a blogging friend and saw that she was participating in the a-z challenge---i felt a little pang that i had not done it this year----just a little mind you---

i think it is a great idea though---but not to be critical---i would enjoy it better if everyone just hit the keys each day, not knowing where the story or post would take them only the letter----that's what i did the first year---haha that's the way i thought it was to go----

again me being an undisciplined writer liked it better that way, huh---

but here i am writing today and starting a twitter account----so i guess i still feel i want to say something to someone sometimes-

life is strange isn't it---we struggle to connect and then when we do---we often retreat-----don't ask us too much----don't get too close-

we just can't help, wanting to be known and understood-------if we realized how little people really think about us all---well it's true

it's just so hard to get out of this body of evidence that we are the stars in our story and if we don't tell it, rarely will someone else

  1. Fortunately for me, I decided on my topic for A to Z back in October and had plenty of time to prepare and schedule. That being said, I still have two of them to write. So easy to pick a topic.

  3. I almost didn't do the challenge this year, because I've been so busy. But I decided to go ahead and give it a try. It's crazy, but fun!

  4. I missed the challenge last year as I was being mentored by another author. So I was a supportive blogger by visiting some of the people on that list. You can be a supporter if you like, they have a badge too - check out the A to Z page.

This year hubs suggested my theme: ART. I can get inspired by that. Good luck with Twitter, I'm not twitter-pated, yet.

  5. With the A-Z, I like the idea too, of just writing what comes to mind daily. But, it doesn't work for me. I spend to much time thinking about what to write! The Challenge takes enough time as it is! So, I actually write posts all year long and stash them. Then when the challenge really starts, I can spend my time just blog-hopping around the linky list. It's taken me three years to get this! I still pop in here, Lynn, whether you're in the challenge or not, just so ya know. :-)

  7. It has been a busy 1/2 year. One thing and then another. But I am participating in the A to Z, but this year my posts are pithy. Wanted to provoke thought, not give a lecture.

  8. I did the A to Z again this year, but decided to make it a game. I love all the informative posts, but sometimes a girl just wants to have fun. Shallow, I know.

  12. Anything that would require me to post something daily is a no go. I just don't have it in me.

    1. yeah that's how i felt this year-- i can barely write every couple of weeks on my blog it seems-- i can imagine you haven't had time for much of anything-- thinking of you :)

  13. A to Z literally makes my head swim. It's like the PT telling me to lift one leg then the other 12 times. When I'm done she tells me I just lifted one leg 12 times, then the other 12 times. So, back to square one.

  16. It's something I'd do if I was housebound maybe. I sit at my computer too long as it is. There's a popular writing practise in Urdu called Shayari or Shairy which is two line poetry, maybe I'd have a go at that.

  17. You know, the times I'm happiest are the times I'm completely focused on others, but they're also the times I completely burn out, so how do you balance that? A to Z is case in point. I want to get to everyone's blogs and share the love, but whew! There comes a point the brain gets fuzzy and all I want to do is sleep. Meh! I'll sleep when I'm dead. ;)
