wednesday's wishful thinking

i don't want to sound like a broken record---but boy if i could write about some things that go on in my life----now mind you they really aren't that unusual and probably wouldn't be of interest to many---but facebook seems to enjoy them a bit-----

do you air your concerns and the dirty laundry of life on there---facebook i mean----no of course not, that would be too gauche-----i mean only the young and confrontational would stoop to this---this social media avenue of defense and pitiful plea of understanding

i guess you get i am guilty as charged--and darn it---every time i do it i promise my dignified self that it shall never ever happen again----but those likes---oh how they can get me --

and on the other hand, sometimes i tell myself i am going to be like joan rivers and just blurt out any old thing i want----which brings me to a slight divergence ----although i was floored that even joan could make such a hideous comment or joke about that subject----it always makes me think of how did it or when was it not "too soon" to ridicule the lindbergh baby's abduction and murder-----

but anyway----i go on---with my menus my plans my life---tucking all these tasty tidbits away for the day i am much older and everyone will laugh when i cleverly disguise their character--and say---now who would do that---boy lynn-mama-nanny---had quite the imagination

  1. I pretty much stick to book stuff. It's more interesting than what I ate for breakfast or how my laundry must be done or I'll have to go naked. :-)

  2. I don't air much of anything on FB. Maybe a "I got a puppy, what do I do now" or "I need a plumber, who do I call?" stuff. That doesn't stop everyone else from telling us when they blew their nose last or air their anger at being done wrong. :)

    1. haha i know---i hope i an not one of those p!eople ;) but i was just sitting here thinking that part of my excuse for the occasional relapse is because i am a pretty open person about much of my life and i will share way too much with people sometimes!

  3. I hope I get wiser as I get older. Many times I refrain from saying what I think and that's usually a good thing.

  5. Like susan g/k above, I don't vent or air out issues in my blog. Instead, I hope my blog informs, entertains, and poses questions. I love your blog, lynn.

  7. I love FB for all the feeds I have. I have never posted. FB, the whole internet for that matter, knows too much about me. What bra I looked at, shoes I like, bathroom fixtures I could buy. Too funny.

  8. Haha joanne now my bra size that's something i wouldn't want anyone to know ;)

  10. If Facebook is a release for your frustrations then I say go ahead, but beware. They may come back to bite you. I only have family and a few close fiends on my Facebook pages, and with that limitation I know I can just about say all I need too. Some youngsters with hundreds of 'Friends' really don't know what they are letting themselves in for. I think us bloggers let people know a lot about us anyhow......I think I'm an open book. I was going to guess at that last comment Lynn, but realized how ungentlemanly that would be. 3? D

  12. Once, I accidentally misspelled stable as staple on a facebook post; I didn't hear the end of it for days. Now days, I mostly stick to posting cute dog pictures and even cuter daughter pictures!

  13. I've been trying to be more active on social media--but interesting, as well. People do like to see little snippets of each other's lives and I suppose information about our food can be interesting...especially if it's something delicious!

  14. yeah i love to blog about food-- sometimes i think about making my whole blog about it :)

  15. It's ridiculous the stuff people post on fb - some people take it too seriously. I keep in mind whatever I post will be out there FOREVER. So, I try not to post things that might bite me later. :-) I might run for president someday. LOL.
