after the challenge, the challenge of may

hey hey hey----yep i am sitting here writing--the day after the a-z challenge---not really knowing what i want to say but knowing i want to write---hmmmm maybe that challenge did do what it was probably intended to do--

i am kinda stressing about the month of may--now i know, hold your excitement---

i think may may be my busiest month, right there after good old december---

first there is mother's day----now let me es-pound on my feelings a little on mother's day----I HATE IT!

sorry, just had to get that out-----now don't hate me or decide i have lost my mind-----i will share, some, not all of my deep reasons i hate it------

as an adult my first memories are of being pregnant with what would become shortly there after mother's day, a miscarriage----

then there was the mother's day my baby was still in the nicu-

there was one mother's day that it's  memory  i cannot share now---

but these and many more are some of  the reasons, i do not care at all for mother's day-----and this one will be the first one without my dear mother--

i am not a downer type of person, so i will get to the other may business ---- robyn's GOLDEN birthday, my son colin's birthday and my daughter-in-law kelli's, and my youngest grand-daughter's second birthday this may---

there is also robyn's end of year testing for homeschool, and her prom------

all of this takes time and lots of money----any of these family members reading this-----don't be offended---if you know me, you know that if there is one thing i like to do, it's buy gifts for people-----i am just ranting today----and trying to keep up my blogging-----some people actually think i am serious about all i blog about----

gotta go for now and start a list for the week----i love lists and checking the things i have accomplished off---

i had a really funny thing i was ending this blog with--but in order to not upset anyone, i have decided not to share it---see that is what holds me back from being a serious writer, i cannot be honest-------and i am not fond of writing fiction----

hey i forgot one thing about the month of may----my birthday

  1. Loved the postings in April and can't wait for others. If it helps, I really don't like mothers day either.

  2. Blogs and families are occasionally a dangerous mix.

I love to make lists too. Crossing items off a list is a great feeling.

  4. Lists are awesome - IF you can cross things off them! More times than not, I see UNchecked things and wish there were more time in the day! Oh well. We do what we can do! And I'm with Suze - happy Lynn day!!

  5. I too do the list thing, but for some reason I can't bring myself to write it down. I list inside my head. I think that way it doesn't look so big, and I don't feel bad when it remains undone tomorrow.

I have a list now, and have yet to work on any of it yet today....I really should, maybe.

May is a busy one for me too, as for mother's day, we are heading out to see the Blue Man Group. I perfer it that way! I can't say I hate it, but I can easily say it is not something I look forward to.

  6. My friend and I used to talk in high school about how certain holidays are lucky or not for certain people. For example, I always had a great time on Halloween no matter what was happening, but the 4th of July something bad always happened. It was opposite for her. It sounds like you have your own unlucky holiday. So sorry for all the past unhappy memories, but I hope this one turns out better!

    2. I hate mothers day too. Mostly ecause a true mother' s day would be if everyone up and disappeared for a day. So I could have nothing to do!

  7. Lynn, I can see why you hate mother's day and I think you are very brave for bringing up the subject on your blog. I cannot think of one thing I could say to make you feel better, except, I am listening, and I understand.

  8. Happy birthday sometime this month! It's my daughter's and my husband's birthday this month, plus the mother's day thing in between, so it's pretty busy. We don't really do mother's day. Used to get cold toast and orange juice in bed later than I wanted to get up. And then an audience while I ate it. But they're all off on their own now, so I can have an omelet and hot coffee.

    1. haha i know--they want you to eat that toast, like ya haven't eaten before---that omelet sounds pretty good--thanks for the birthday wishes--it's the 16th :)

  9. I was hoping you would post today! I look forward to reading your entries.

I make a ton of lists. I love crossing things off! I even write simple things on them like "bring library books upstairs" or "give kids a bath" just so I can cross them off. LOL

  11. hugs to you; the first Mother's Day without your mom is a hard one; I cried through the church service; but the day was redeemed by son/hubby taking me out to dinner. I am not fond of it either, having faced several Mother Day's dealing with infertility (we adopted two kids over the years later). My mom had the best thoughts about Mother's Day "why don't you treat me special every day, not just one day of the year" that was when we were growing up, I think she had a great point there. This year will be hubby's first Mother's Day without his mom; I know it will get a bit to him.

But the good news is there are other good celebrations to look forward too, including your birthday :)

hope the day is a great one!

    1. awww thanks for the hugs--i will think especially about your husband's loss too this mother's day---yes i have always thought too of the women that can't have children and the ones without moms--i just think it is a kinda hurtful stupid day---now that doesn't mean i won't graciously accept any wonderful gifts that might come my way haha---i am glad you have your kids!!--thanks for the birthday wishes--and one more gripe---if there does have to be a mother's day, i wish it wasn't so close to my birthday---i know, i am full of contradictions, huh----thanks betty ;)

  14. I am with you: Mother's Day totally depresses me. For different reasons (fortunately!) than yours, but I dread it each year. Everyone is trying to figure out what to "do" for Mother's Day. I know the answer: leave me alone, let me have a silent day where I can write/sleep/whatever!

    I love your blog, Lynn.

  16. I'm not crazy about Mother's Day either; my parents belong to a religion that forbids the celebration of any holidays, so I can't send my mom a Mother's Day card or anything. It's a little weird, especially when I have to explain to people why I'm not doing anything for my mom. I have a much older friend whose daughter no longer speaks to her, so I always send her a card on Mother's Day, I think it's good for both of us. I hope your Mother's Day is peaceful this year.

  17. That's a big lot to do this month. I know the feeling, though. I do up a photobook of my son every year after his birthday, and so that becomes Mother's day gifts and birthday gifts for May. I'll be glad for the summer because nothing is going on holiday or birthday-wise in my life.

    1. yeah--the summer is a little better for us usually but not this summer so far---too many things lining up already---oh well maybe the fall will settle down--:)
