to bleach or not to bleach

i think i might be becoming a little boring--but i don't really care haha--my fb status was just about whether one uses bleach or comet to clean their toilets----i always use one or the other but can't decide which one is doing a better job--

it is kinda strange how i am all about cleaning products and methods, when cleaning is one of my least favorite things to spend time doing------

i won't spend much either on cleaning products--now if i had plenty of disposable income, i would--i would probably be a sucker for any and all new products that claim they are the latest thing and get the job done better and faster---

i, like a lot of people are always looking for a faster way to do things---especially things i dislike doing---

i just got back from the grocery store ---the manager is always very friendly and talkative to robyn and me ---today he was checking people out---i went in his line, but the line next to me opened up so i moved over to that checker-----the manager said in a kidding voice--"i can't believe you did that"----i told him speed trumped everything when it came to grocery shopping----i simply hate grocery shopping!!--

i think my loathing for the grocery stems from a bad experience i had as a child---i may have shared it already--but quickly, it was when i got stuck behind the grocery cart and thought my mother was going to leave me in the line----and the lady checking us out, said what a bad girl i was, to cry like i did---stupid lady---

the other time was when i was about 23 or so----i always did the grocery shopping for frank and myself----the day was no different than any other weekly shopping trip----the store was very near my house and near my mom and sister too---i was meeting them there-----i arrive in the parking lot and look around, i don't see my mom's car anywhere, so i sit in my car waiting-----suddenly i feel light headed and my heart is beating  like crazy-------

i run into the store and tell them, to please call me an ambulance because i for sure am having a heart attack----my mom and sister come in to find me on the floor and people all around me------make a long story short, i am taken to the hospital---and that began weeks of test upon test, only to find out i have an extremely fast heart rate and most likely panic attacks----

wow i am sharing way too much of myself these days, huh------but i think all of that has something to do with my detesting to grocery shop----

so i like a fast cleanser a fast trip to the grocery store and anything else that i don't enjoy, i like to do it with the utmost speed-------just popping by to share a bit with all of you today and btw, my leg is doing pretty good--thanks for all of the nice comments:)

  1. Glad your leg is better. I'm Swedish, and besides sex and herring, we love to clean. I've devised my own cleaning wands, and used to time my cleaning with the commercials of my favorite Thursday night shows. Most of my house was done in an hour. Of course, not spring cleaned, but you know.

  2. I prefer bleach. You just have to watch that it doesn't splash. Bleach cleans stainless sinks well, too.

I use the grittier cleansers on stubborn stains. Funny post, Lynn. Glad to hear your knee is better.

  3. Two of my least favorite things, cleaning and grocery shopping. I am a bleach cleaning person tho and a coupon person at the grocery store, always seeking the best bargains. :)

  11. I don't mind cleaning, but I HATE grocery shopping. It seems so futile. A week later, or two days later, I have to do it again. It's so constant. I use coupons too, which makes it all take longer. The whole thing seems like a waste of money. :-)

    1. i know---and i have been doing it several times a week--for one reason, the money haha, and the other, the frequent storms--i don't want to lose food due to any power outages---thanks mare :)

  13. Glad your leg is doing better! I'm on strike so I'm not cleaning these days, but when I was cleaning, I used comet for the toilet bowl; it seemd to work :)

Oh grocery shopping; I tell you, I'm grateful for the money to be able to go and shop, but hubby is one of those that likes to meander up and down every aisle and look at this and that; I'm a list kind of girl, lets get in and out as fast as we can. Its pure torture sometimes (I'm not sure why I haven't turned it over to him completely to do it himself but that thought has crossed my mind sometimes :)

I hope tomorrow is a great start to a great weekend!

  16. great post title. When I read that, I immediately thought of bleaching hair..haha
I'd rather go shopping than housework sometimes. Problem is when I do go shopping I end up buying unnecessary things. At the end of the day, it comes down to "mom has to do the housework and a trip to the grocery store"

  18. Sometimes I spend way too long at the grocery store, but not as much as I used to. When my kids lived at home I liked to make sure there was always plenty of food in the house and I was fixing regular dinners. Now with just my wife and I, we don't cook too much and keep the cupboards and refrigerator much emptier. Besides the store sales and coupons don't seem to be as good as they used to be. I try to do short shopping trips.

  20. Honestly, I don't own toilet cleaner! I use a method devise by FlyLady which is easy and you won't ever have to use toilet cleaner again. Everyday you just take 30 seconds to swish your toilet bowl with just the scrubber and it will never get dirty! I do the same thing for my bathroom counters: just take a wet washcloth and swipe it over all the surface (30 seconds or so), without cleanser and you almost never have to do much to them!

  21. I read somewhere to always pick the line with the least amt of people, because it is the actual transaction that takes all the time....so we have been trying to prove this theory but have not proven it to be true. I ALWAYS pick the line that takes the longest.
