april love, accuracy and articokes

as the new a-z challenge begins, i have found the first letter to be more of a challenge than last years----if you are a follower of my blog, you may have noticed, i am all over the place--

so as i understand many of you have your month already written and some of you even have your theme---i simply must applaud each of you diciplined writers and thank you for the opportunity to join in on the fun--

and so it begins---

april love-accuracy and articokes---that's what kept coming back to me last night-

april love, well it is april today --but i fear, my concept of the dilema i was expereincing in my head last night, will be lost in translation---

it went something like---why is april so special and what if we treated our children the way we did our years months---you know, preferring one over the other---something i have written about before, but not with the children analogy----i told you i was going to have trouble with this one

accuracy----may be highly over-rated or extremely relative ---is one man's accuracy one man's question----okay, so all this has been said before----but it made perfect sense last night in my sleepy brain--

and now to those lovely always beckoning articokes----i cannot tell you how much they appealed to me as a child---i would see them on a tv show or in an advertisement and relish the thought of those meaty petals, dripping in melted warm butter--entering into my waiting mouth and how elegant i would be, as i partook of them--

and to my dismay, i had to realize, i have never had an artichoke this way ---maybe some april loves and most assuredly little accuracy-

  5. THREE A words! Goodness! :) I always want to like artichokes, but somehow after a few bites they overtake all the other senses and I run away scared. As for accuracy, I agree that it is very relative and a matter of perspective. And I have never thought of one month as being a favorite--I shall have to consider that!

    Happy "A" Day!

  9. I have never had artichokes except in a dip. I love April cause it is springtime and garden planting time. I am so ready to get outside and get my hands dirty. Now if we could only have some accuracy from the weather people... Is it my imagination or did they predict better before using all the computer models?

    1. haha i think you might be right about the computer weather thing ruth--how cool you love gardening--i love the thought of it---and yeah i've had the dip too--happy planting :)

  10. I did intend preparing for the challenge in advance but was simply too busy. So I am afraid I am in the same boat as you but I think it is better in some ways because I never know what will come out of my head and in amongst the obvious drivel there is sometimes the odd gem. Good luck!

  12. April is the month of my daughter's birth - I love April. :)
Accuracy really is overrated...except in calculating my mortgage rate.
Artichokes are messy little beasts but my are they scrumptious.

What a delightful and insightful start to the A-Z.

As far as April, it's my bday month so is a fav, accuracy? My day job is QC,, don't get me started, and artichokes I do like if cooked properly. C ya later.

Artichokes look and sound kind of exotic but I've only had them once with butter and don't really remember what it tasted like. It was messy though, which is always fun.

  33. Personally, I love April!

The beginning of spring -- the month of my birth -- when you can finally shake off winter and begin anew. Artichokes, not so much -- have never had one! What have I missed?

Accuracy -- oh dear, not me!

  34. I like your analogy to favorite months as they relate to favorite children (I don't have a favorite child, just so you know). But maybe it will help me be more kind to the months I don't like so much, such as November :-)

  36. So long as I'm quite close to accuracy I'm happy enough. Never liked artichokes, but April Love takes me back to my salad days of discovery and girls and honky tonk cafes and coca cola and juke boxes.

  37. I'm trying to catch up on reading in the A-Z. I don't know if you follow Penchant for Pens, but she wrote something I thought was so fab on artichokes of all things...you might want to check it out-

  38. I have some of my posts ready to go but that is only because I have a trip coming up and I didn't want it to sideline my bloggy plans. :) Otherwise... I would be just winging it every day and every letter. Totally without accuracy. :)
