b is for bohemian rhapsody

well i am afraid my blog today is a little dark also----at least to me--

queen's biggest hit, bohemian rhapsody is one of the saddest songs i have ever heard--

it is the awful moment, when you do something that will change your life forever, and there is no power on earth that can alter it or take it back--

as my oldest boys were growing up, i feared this so many times--as they went through their time of rebellion--thank God, none of the dumb crazy things they did, that i know about and the ones i only hear about a couple at a time each new year--didn't ruin their lives--

i too could have had a life so different if not for God's grace and mercy as i grew up, acting out in reckless abandon --

i can just see this kid as he calls his poor mother from jail----"mama i just killed a man"------how heart-breaking for the both of them----

okay and i am gonna get kinda heavy here---but keep in mind that my heart is forever a mother's heart--but i pray for all of those people who have done something in a moments rash decision, that they never give up hope, that they know God's true and never changing mercy and that their mother's never give up on them---

  1. That is a sad song. Putting yourself in the shoes of the mother and paralleling that to life is soo heartbreaking. Joining in that prayer! "that they never give up hope" Love this!

  2. Nice posting. Actually I just a bio of Queen. I also love the story this song tells almost as if it is a warning and pleading all at once. Thanks for sharing:)

    1. yes it is fun sometimes to sing to--a group of my daughter's friends were in the car with us a while back when this came on the radio--one of the boys had never heard it---those of us that knew it---sang it loudly

  10. As much as I heart me some Queen, I can't hear this song and not think of Wayne's World. :)

  13. I know exactly where you're coming from. My boys survived those years, and so did I, and thank goodness none of us every killed anyone. I still love listening to Bohemian Rhapsody though. It's an amazing piece of music.

  15. I think the Bohemian Rhapsody's music is what makes it dark. It's also very wonderful.

  16. I like this post, even though it's heart breaking. A mother's love never ends, even if her child has made poor decisions. I was just thinking of a friend of mine a few weeks ago, as I read on the news that he went to jail for child molestation. I know it's a horrible crime, and he deserved to be punished, but my heart went out to my friend, his mother, whom I guessed was suffering for seeing her son's life falling apart. She never mentioned to her friends about this, we found out through the newspaper. Then I understood why she had lost so much weight and why she kept to herself, even though she was always a social butterfly.

  18. That song is brilliant, and yes, very sad. I don't know whether to laugh or cry when my boys (15 and 12) sing it on Rock Band. You're so right about a mother's love. We never give up. Being a mother finally let me understand God's love for us even when we are rebellious and do stupid stuff.
