d is for dance

well i will have to share with you that today's letter has given me a little bit of a problem--

the subject or word has not come easily although as you read, you may wonder why it didn't-

my first three beautiful girls did not dance, i could always see them dancing and i know in my heart i will see them dancing in heaven one day--but how my heart aches at the thought of them here, spinning around in their tutus and tights--

my last child a girl, dances--not only does she dance, but she is amazing--

i am sure with the right amount of training and lots of money, she could have made it in ballet---it's funny she has a natural grace and beauty for ballet, but no love for it, at least not anymore --

i don't know if any of you watch "dance moms"---in my experience it has not been too much like the show--but the undertones are certainly there--

sadly or maybe not, we were not able to keep up with the cost of dance--

my daughter robyn has been taking ballroom for the last couple of years, where she works for her lessons--

robyn occasionally dances at our "baptist" church--

when she is all done with dancing one day, i know i will be a little sad--that i will always remember her twirls and her leaps--and her saying, "hey mom watch this, how does that look"---

she tells me she dances for her sisters too- that she sees ashley, eden and mary, when see dances----i see them too and it explains why, at times while watching her dance, i feel some little souls around me whispering, "see mama, we can dance"--

  6. Lynn, this is so beautiful. I could hear the sadness in your voice. Robyn is such an amazing dancer, and every time I've seen her, she has stood out from everyone-of course, I could be a little biased! :-)

  7. thank you so much adie, what you have said means so much--it is very hard for me to share about the kids---and even though you may be biased, it still is true haha <3

  11. I detected a bit of melancholy in your post, it was very poignant.
It's a shame that sometimes cost becomes such a deterrent.
My spouse, the Education Tipster, loves dance and studied it as far as she could.
I don't know about the dance show you mentioned but we enjoy Dancing with the stars. There was a great dance competion show called Americas best dance crew which was fabulous. It was groups of people who street danced but they elevated it to an art. It disappeared though. We miss it.
    Please take care of yourself.

  12. thank you for your beautiful comment anthony--fortunately my daughter has been able to keep up with much of her dancing, but not the competition dancing, which i think had pretty much run it's usefulness anyway--i remember hearing about the dance crew show---we like "dwts" and "so you think you can dance"--does your spouse still work in dance at all---my daughter i wrote about has been writing a story on her blog "by ivy nor"--the story is titled "chasse secrets"---way before the new dance shows aired---sorry for the long comment haha!

  13. Love your post. I wish I could dance. I remember my mom taking me to see The Nutcracker gosh many years ago and I had wished I could dance like that, but was given the gift of left feet I guess. Thanks for sharing and can't wait to read your other topics of April

  14. I admire anyone who can dance. I have no grace at all, so it always impresses me when others do. Ballet and ballroom are both wonderful forms.

  17. I dance very rarely and poorly. When my wife and I go to a function that includes dancing, I'll take her out on the dance floor a few times because she likes to dance. She laughs at me because I tend to be intensely focused on counting the beat - but that's the only way this mennonite lad can dance.

  25. Very sweet, but sad. I always wanted to dance as a kid, but we couldn't afford it. I'm struggling with that decision for my own daughter right now.
