D- it's all in the delivery

#AtoZChallenge 2019 Tenth Anniversary badge
Once you say something it's said you can't take it back--
In our day to day interaction with the public our friends and family we communicate our feelings our desires and our intent

With all the social media our meaning to our words is often misunderstood-- our delivery is sometimes unclear and harsh sounding- probably most of the times that happens it is intentional but that impersonal written word gets us in trouble occasionally

It is in our delivery that we convey our sarcasm our displeasure and our passion

I still have to laugh at the delivery of a line in our church Christmas play one year

The line was "money is no problem with me"--- I directed how it was to be delivered but this actor accentuated every word but the right one

"money IS no problem with me"
"money is no problem with ME?"

It is still hilarious

Yes as we type away our texts - Facebook comments -we should be aware of our delivery- too many caps?-- too many exclamation points?
And don't get me started on those emojis

  1. Yep so true about delivery. It is hard too because things come out differently in an email or text than if we were standing next to the person and telling them the same thing we were writing. Emojis can be fun at times. Hubby and me use them a lot when we are texting throughout the day when we are both working.

  2. I do use emojis too but yes- sometimes our meanings in social media are lost in translation 😉

  3. Hello. Thank you for visiting my blog. Yes, text that is written is sometimes misunderstood because the delivery is not always as understood as the actual words. Writing so that your delivery is clearly understood is a challenge. I think I miss the mark more than I hit it.

  5. Texts and e-mails can so easily be misinterpreted. I tend to be very old fashioned and not use text speak.

  6. I must admit I have become used to texting- so much so I kinda cringe when the phone rings🤔

  7. Truth :) This is why I don't like it when people disregard emojis as an "infantile" way of communication. Linguistically, they add the gestures and other non-language elements to written communication that make the meaning clearer.
